Patternomics — see it, name it, acknowledge it, aim it
The engine

Patternomics™ — an operating system for the patterns that run us.

Everything Slight Angle makes — the stories, the kids' line, the curriculum, the assessment — runs on one engine underneath: a proprietary framework and the tooling that turns it into products.

What it is

Not a book. A system the books come out of.

Patternomics is a structured way to make invisible behavioral patterns visible, nameable, and workable. It is built as three assets that compound: a framework, a proprietary library of patterns, and an engine that turns them into products across markets — kids, schools, veterans, recovery, and organizations.

The framework

A defined framework for how patterns form, hold, and shift. Original R&D — presented honestly as a framework, not a clinical claim.

The library

A proprietary, curated library of recurring patterns, each described through the same structured lens. That structured library is the hard-to-copy asset.

The engine

Tooling that converts the library into assessments, curricula, and content at scale — with a built-in validation layer.

The library

One library. One structure.

Every pattern is described the same way, so a single source can drive a children's book, a classroom lesson, a veteran workshop, and a self-assessment without re-inventing anything. The library itself — the patterns and the data behind them — is shared with partners under agreement.

The method

One move, everywhere.

1

See the pattern

Catch the loop starting.

2

Name it

Naming lowers its intensity.

3

Acknowledge it

Say what it's protecting.

4

Redirect

One if-then plan that re-aims it.

For kids, the same move is gentler: Feel it · Name it · Aim it.

The engine, end to end

From library to product.

Pattern library Assessment Content engine (curriculum, books, packs) Validation

Each person who takes the assessment can (with consent) sharpen the library, which improves every product the engine makes — a flywheel, not a one-off.

Why it holds up

Research-grounded — and honest about what's still R&D.

The building blocks are established science: naming a feeling lowers its intensity (affect labeling); "if-then" plans reliably change behavior (implementation intentions); externalizing a pattern makes it workable (narrative therapy). The combined framework is original research-in-progress — we present it as such, never as a validated clinical product. The foundational theory is published open-access: doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21040834.

What it powers

One engine. Many surfaces.

The same engine powers a wide range of products and tools:

Personal navigation

A personal profile and daily check-in — see which pattern has the wheel, and where it's aimed.

building

Relationship dynamics

Reads how two people's patterns interact — likely friction, and the path to repair.

roadmap

Organizational diagnostics

Reads a team or company by what it actually rewards — and where problems quietly go unspoken.

roadmap

Story & screen engine

Every character built as a pattern profile and arc — for books, film, and believable AI characters.

in use

Education

Curriculum, a pattern card deck, and experiential learning that teach the method directly.

shipped

Veterans & recovery

Behavioral Bodyguard — supportive education built on the same engine.

shipped

Developer API

A profile in → tendencies, blind spots, conflict style, and a growth path out. Patternomics as infrastructure.

roadmap

Items marked shipped are available today; building / roadmap are in development — shared as direction, not a finished claim.

The long game

A connected system that compounds.

Underneath everything is a growing, proprietary system that connects everything the studio builds. The books and tools are outputs of it — and every new piece makes what's already built more valuable. The details live with partners under agreement.
